"In Passing" features figurative work from South Dakota artists, Anna Youngers and Luke Gorder. Explore the artists’ contrasting styles as they find common ground in their subject – the human form. The Ipso Gallery is excited to host this moment of convergence of our artists’ otherwise divergent paths.  Please join us in promoting this unique event in celebration of South Dakota arts and the human form.

Each year, the Ipso Gallery hosts four individual and sponsored art exhibits that feature visual artists. The Ipso Gallery dedicates a large portion of a yearlong accumulation of funds to an organization of their choice. During the reception for In Passing, we will be announcing our chosen recipient for 2012.

In March, my painting "Winter Portrait" was selected as a finalist in a competion hosted by the America China Oil Painting Artists League (ACOPAL).  You can view my painting and the other finalists here.

In June, I was awarded the 2011-2012 South Dakota Artist Fellowship Grant.   I am fortunate to have received the grant, and thank the South Dakota Arts Council for continuing to support my work!

Also in June, "Winter Portrait" was chosen to be part of the Annual Juried Painting & Sculpture Exhibition hosted by the Salmagundi Art Club.  The exhibition will be on display in the Salmagundi Art Club Main Gallery from August 8th - August 19th.
